E Forland AS to build a ROV, Survey and Construction Vessel at BMV in Bergen:  

E Forland AS has today signed a contract with BMV AS in Bergen for delivery of a ROV, Survey and Construction vessel for delivery in February 2008.

The vessel is designed by Skipsteknisk AS in Ålesund and developed in close co-operation with BMV AS and E.Forland Shipowners.

Fugro Survey Ltd in Aberdeen has signed a long term charter agreement for the vessel.

The vessel has an overall length of 111 meter and max. beam of 24 meter. The vessel will be prepared for worldwide operation and will be equipped with a 150 T heave compensated crane for operation down to 3.000 M.

Vessel is outfitted with moon-pool and will have a deck space of 1.100 m2. Cabins for 105 person

The vessel is the second shipbuilding contract awarded from E.Forland Shipowners to BMV over the last 5 months and is based on The Forland Vessel Concept.

The vessel is developed and prepared to be very flexible and will be convert able to different offshore operations on a short notice, based on the development in the offshore industry.

The vessel will fulfill all future demands for safety, security and environmental requirements and the design is optimized for low noise, seaworthiness and extremely operation conditions.

Further the vessel is designed for high comfort and well-being for the crew; amphitheatre for 55 people, training and fitness studio, Internet café, library and restaurant.

The Shipowner has always put high focus on the Norwegian marine cluster and the welfare of the crew on board.

E.Forland Shipowner has been a pioneer in the Norwegian Offshore Industry;

The first project was conversion of the 15-miler vessel M/S “Ara” from a passenger/cargo liner to a seismic research vessel in 1973.

BMV Laksevaag in Bergen was responsible for the conversion.
